FlexBenefits Childcare allowance
Double the funding: The FlexBenefits Childcare Allowance
Fresenius supports its employees in balancing family and career. In addition to the regular childcare allowance, Fresenius offers an additional option to have part of the childcare costs reimbursed as part of the FlexBenefits Budget.
How it works
Am I eligible?
If you are entitled to the regular childcare allowance of EUR 38.35, you can also apply for the allowance from the FlexBenefits budget. The prerequisite is that your child attends a day care center, kindergarten or is taken care of by childminders (“Tageseltern”).
Application
To select the benefit, submit the application form. It must be submitted no later than the 20th of the month prior to the previous month so that the allowance can be paid out.
Payment
The allowance is paid out with the monthly salary, but at the earliest with the regular childcare allowance and for a maximum of three months retrospectively. A maximum of the actual costs will be reimbursed.
Tax and social security
The allowance under the FlexBenefits Budget is exempt from tax and social security contributions for this purpose.
Frequently asked questions
Does the allowance increase if I have more than one child?
Unlike the childcare allowance, it does not increase if more than one child is being cared for. It is always EUR 30.
What happens during periods without (continued) payment?
Employees without ongoing remuneration (e.g. during parental leave) are not entitled to the FlexBenefits Budget and can therefore no longer take advantage of the offer. In the event of illness, the allowance will continue to be paid for up to 12 months. A new application is only possible when you receive a regular salary again.
Which costs are subsidized?
The costs for childcare and meals are subsidized.
How long is the allowance paid for?
The payment ends automatically after 12 months if no new application is received. It also ends if you choose a different benefit, are no longer entitled to the FlexBenefits Budget or the conditions for receiving the childcare allowance are no longer met (e.g. the child moves to school).
