PlusCard

So that you are protected: the PlusCard

You can use your FlexBenefits Budget to finance the PlusCard. This allows you to take advantage of various exclusive health and wellness benefits, depending on the tariff. Unlike private supplementary health insurance, there is no prior health check and you can also insure your family members for a reasonable price.

Financing your PlusCard

FlexBenefits Budget

If you use the FlexBenefits Budget to finance your PlusCard, the allowance of up to EUR 30 will be deducted by payroll directly from your own monthly contribution. Depending on the selected tariff and additional options, further costs may be incurred. These are then paid from your net salary.

From your net salary

If you decide to choose another benefit from the FlexBenefits Budget, you can also finance the PlusCard privately. In this case, the full contribution for the selected Fresenius tariff will be deducted from your net salary.

Your advantages

No health check

There is no health check when applying for the PlusCard. Your age and any pre-existing medical conditions are neither a reason for a higher premium nor for exclusion.

Private patient comfort

Anyone who is ill wants the best possible care. The PlusCard offers this security. With the PlusCard, you enjoy private patient comfort during hospital stays, consultation with a senior consultant or doctor of your choice and accommodation in a two-bed comfort room. The prerequisite is that the hospital is subject to the Federal Nursing Rate Ordinance or the Hospital Remuneration Act.

Consultant appointment service

The PlusCard also has advantages when looking for a specialist. The "Wir für Gesundheit" service hotline finds suitable medical experts for every problem and coordinates appointments directly with you – which means you have even shorter waiting periods. And if you need to make an important medical decision and want a second opinion, the service hotline will also organize this – for all diagnoses.

World of benefits

Those who enjoy life stay healthy for longer. That is why the PlusCard also offers real benefits even if you are in good health: for example, discounts at many health hotels, wellness resorts and sports centers or leisure parks and adventure providers.

How it works

01

Get informed

With the PlusCard, you can choose between different tariffs. It is up to you to decide which tariff is best for you. You can also insure your family members with FamilyPlus insurance. You can find more information in the tariff overview.

02

Make an application

Once you’ve made your decision, you can apply for the PlusCard at the selected rate using this form. The application must be received by the 20th of the previous month to take effect at the beginning of the following month (e.g. by 20.08. for an insurance start date of 01.10.). Please note the data protection notice.

03

Payment of the premium

The insurance premiums are deducted as part of payroll accounting and reduced accordingly if the FlexBenefits Budget is used.

Tax and social security

If you don’t use the FlexBenefits Budget for financing, the entire amount will be deducted from your net salary.
Using the FlexBenefits-Budget for the PlusCard is generally tax and social security exempt but falls under the EUR 50 limit for benefits in-kind. In individual cases, it may be possible that taxes are incurred because of the allowance. In this event, taxes will be borne by Fresenius.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to make a personal contribution?

Your contribution depends on the tariff you choose and the additional options.

Are residual amounts of the FlexBenefits Budget paid out?

If the insurance premium is less than EUR 30, the remaining budget cannot be paid out or used for other benefits. However, to use the full amount, you can always opt for a more comprehensive insurance tariff or cover for family members (FamilyPlus).

What happens during periods without continued remuneration?

If you do not receive regular pay due to illness or parental leave, you will continue to receive the allowance for up to 12 months. In this case, Fresenius will pay the full insurance premium. The personal contribution will be deducted from your salary when you start receiving your salary again. There is also the option of a waiver of contributions, which Fresenius can apply for from the insurance company. In this case, the allowance is no longer paid, but the insurance benefits can still be claimed.

How long will the allowance be paid?

Payment of the allowance ends if you choose a different benefit, are no longer entitled to the FlexBenefits Budget or if you cancel the PlusCard.
